Privacy

This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and makes no requests to any third party. The two places your data can reach us are the web server's access log and an email you choose to send. Both are described below in full.

Who is responsible

What this site does not do

Stated first, because for most visitors it is the whole answer.

• No cookies are set, for any purpose, including analytics.
• No analytics or measurement service of any kind. We do not know how many people read this page.
• No third-party requests. Typefaces are served from this domain, so no font provider learns that you were here. Nothing is embedded from anywhere else.
• No advertising, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, no data brokers.
• If you use the light and dark toggle, that preference is stored in your own browser and never transmitted. Clearing site data removes it.

What the server records

Like any web server, ours writes an access log. For each request it records the IP address, the time, the page requested, the response status, the referring page if the browser sends one, and the browser's user-agent string. This is the ordinary record of a server having served a page.

It exists so we can keep the site running and see abuse when it happens, which is our legitimate interest in operating it. Nobody profiles it, nothing is derived from it, and it is not combined with anything else. The log rotates on a fixed size cap, so entries age out on their own rather than being kept indefinitely.

If you email us

There is no contact form on this site, deliberately. The address above is a plain mailbox. If you write to it we hold your message, your address, and whatever you chose to put in it, for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. Mail is hosted by Zoho.

We do not add anyone to a mailing list. There is no mailing list. Ask us to delete a thread and we will.

Please do not send classified, controlled, or otherwise sensitive material by email.

That warning is not a formality. Email is not a secure channel and this one is ordinary commercial mail. If a discussion needs to cover material that is classified or export-controlled, say so in general terms and we will agree a proper channel before anything is sent.

Where it is held

The server is in Helsinki, Finland, inside the European Union. Mail is held by Zoho on its own infrastructure. We are based in Pakistan, so correspondence is read there.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and we will act on it. If you are in the EU or UK those rights are yours under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your national supervisory authority. There is no charge and you do not need an account, because there are no accounts.

Changes

If this site starts doing something it does not do today, this page changes before that ships, not after. The date below is when it was last reviewed.
